Since 2016

Women are not flexible as much as men while choosing their job. There are some pressure and prejudice on women what they can do or not. Because of that, many female high school students feel obligated to choose one of the jobs which is labelled as suitable for women although there are successful models doing other jobs like engineering. At that point, we have been organizing SWENext for female high-school students since 2016. We aim to introduce engineering, encourage them to be engineer, and show importance of STEM. The students have a chance to observe researches in physics, chemistry, biology while visiting labs and coding their apps. We are doing interesting seminars, workshops and experiments in the Koç University labs with students throughout the event. Positive feedbacks we get proves that we achieve our goal.
